Purvis Young’s artwork of the 1980’s and into the latter ’90’s stands as a two decade long stretch which produced a series of masterworks representing his most mature output. As interest in Young’s art began to expand during this time at both the museum and institutional level, the artist embraced the journey towards his creative zenith – building a complex body of work, that while richly heralded then, remains a valued treasure to this day.
