In this multi-paneled masterpiece from 1985, Young has created a vertical storyboard of exuberance and joy for the ages.  The artist’s enthusiasm for subject is recognizable immediately – Young mixes bold figural strokes with colorful washes and brightly applied highlights throughout each of the five panels. Even the dizzying array of framing proves inadequate to contain the energy of each panel – paint spills liberally across these sculptural boundaries, visually connecting all the works together.  The artist’s narrative is subtle yet clear – while each of our stories shine brightly, joined together as in this work, they are brilliant.
