In a city that always welcomed neighbors from the Caribbean, these were a new generation of Jamaicans.  Adorned in the regal calm of Rastafari, these young soul rebels infused spirituality with politics amidst luxe rhythms and captured the attention of Young early on, providing an expanded permission structure for his glance towards Africa that began to inform his work and world view.  This masterwork from Young’s Miami wall of wonder embodies the new look diaspora in living color – a simple man from Jamrock in humble attire, his gaze clear and halo omnipresent.
