Henry Flager built the railroad to Miami. Trucks would follow later – and as Miami grew to be the new capital of Latin America, Young found inspiration in these intermodal gathering places, blending abstract forms and vibrant color blocks that evoked the movement of trucks, trains, and people. This was Miami in motion – the flow of humanity and commodity in perfect sync, yet each with their own rhythm, each with their own rhyme.
